September 2009 Newsletter

Welcome to the SAAZ September E-blast.

Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be September 20th at 2:00pm.   In continuing to look for new and different locations, the meeting will be held at Vintage 56 at 200 Barton Blvd in Rockledge (in the shopping plaza near the intersection of Murrell Rd.

For those who haven’t been, it’s a nice restaurant with a wonderful beer menu.  We had the officer’s meeting there and they had a wonderful tort made with Rogue Mocha Porter.

Vintage 56 has a decent beer list, including four craft beer drafts and a cider, as well as a selection of over 25 craft and imported beers in bottles.  In order to support our hosts, we ask that SAAZ members bring only homebrew and exotic commercial beers (not readily available in Florida) for members to sample, and avail yourselves of the Vintage 56 beer list for sampling of the beers that they stock.

Check out the review in the Florida Today.

JLSB & SAAZ Tree

SAAZ is participating in Junior League of South Brevard’s Festival of Trees 11/21 and 11/22 at the King Center. We are designing a tree to be auctioned off at the event. The proceeds help fund local community projects – visit www.jlsb.net for more information. We need your help to make an amazing beer tree. Please bring new coasters, key rings and other beer items that can be used as decoration to the next meeting or SAAZ event you attend. Some other ideas include clear ornaments filled with hops/grain and bottle cap garland. We will be assembling our decorations at the Gregg House on 11/6. If you have any other ideas – please email Anne Gregg annecgregg@earthlink.net.
