CSAAZugust is here!!! Get ready everyone!!!

Things that just happened:

7/7 Judging Boot Camp #2 at the Gregg house where learning and drinking went hand in hand!!

7/20 SAAZ Summer party at Brad and Anitas was a fabulous time!! With brisket and BBQ so good, there were absolutely no leftovers!!! Thanks again to Anita and Brad for hosting an awesome party and cooking amazing stuff!!!

7/27 7pm Turtle walk happy hour!!! Thanks to Katie for the learning and for helping us turtle walk like pros!!!

7/28 CSAAZ sorting!!! Many hands made for light work, all beers sorted in an afternoon!!! Amazing, thanks to everyone who helped and to Greg and AJ (and others) for feeding us and making sure we did not go thirsty.

August !!!  Commander SAAZ is HERE!!!! Please read the following and help where you can!!! This is our club’s big beer competition and we need lots of help so it can run as smoothly as possible!!.

8/3, 8/4 1st Judging weekend  11am – 630pm at Hell ‘n Blazes

8/10, 8/11 2nd Judging weekend both days 11am – 6:30pm at Beachfly  (yes 11 am they are opening early for us and we were unable to change the time on reggie)

We will need stewards for the judging weekends to help sort and pour beers. Stewarding is a great way to familiarize yourself with the judging process and learn a lot about homebrews. Please show up this weekend at Hell ‘n Blazes if you wish to help as a steward/judge for the day!!

If you wish to register as a steward for the following weekend, you may go to reggie login and create an account, then you can go to our competition https://reggiebeer.com/ReggieEntry.php?CompetitionID=SOJJPN1000840 and add yourself as a steward.  If you are or know a BJCP judge, you may register for judging in this manner as well.

CSAAZ t-shirts can be picked up or purchased at judging this Sat/Sun 8/3, 8/4 11am-6:30pm at Hell ‘n Blazes or next Sat/Sun 8/10, 8/11 at Beachfly 11am-6pm $24 per shirt

8/16 CSAAZ pub crawl!!! Meet in the lobby of Melby Hotel at 6pm – likely stops will include Hell ‘n Blazes, The Mansion and Iron Oak Post

8/17 CSAAZ final judging at the Melbourne Civic Center starting at 8:30am followed by the awards dinner. Bring money or credit cards as we have many wonderful things to raffle off – many many beer ingredients!!!!

The awards dinner will be catered by One Oak of Hemingway’s Tavern. The menu will be diverse with a largely Cuban/Caribbean theme. Vegetarian items will be included on the menu. The cost per person is $30. A PayPal link for online payment will be provided soon or payment may be made at any of the upcoming judging weekends (cash/check/credit card).

Other future important stuff:

Time for SAAZ members to start brewing some awesome beers for pouring to represent SAAZ at the Space Coast Brewfest 10/05 in Titusville!!! This is a great event and we want to pour some amazing beers so get those burners lit and those kettles boiling!!!

9/15 2pm September meeting at Bugnutty!! Education topic: Homebrewing with Jon Nowlin!! Cutting Corners and Winning Medals part 3!!

9/20 Orlando Ale line pub crawl Sat, September 21, 12pm – 10pm meeting at Ivanhoe Park Brewing,  bus will be leaving at 1pm to tour the Orlando brewery scene!!!
