What:
This month’s meeting will be centered around the events involved with Commander SAAZ. We will be selling tickets for Commander SAAZ, have t-shirt sign-ups, and talk about Stewarding as our education topic.
We also need your help to make the event a success! This Saturday, August 24th we will be sorting entries at Dave Webb’s. To volunteer, sign-up!
Also, don’t forget that you need to book your hotel by Friday (August 23rd) afternoon to get the SAAZ discount! Mention SAAZ when you call or enter promo code “SAA” online.
As always, bringing homebrew to share is strongly encouraged, but please respect our gracious host and leave commercial beers at home.

Upcoming Events
Night of the Living Ales
October 31st, Halloween Night, The Broken Barrel Tavern will be offering it’s first annual “Night of the Living Ales” featuring a minimum of 30 sour ales!
Details to come, but we will be featuring Berliner Weiss (and hopefully by then some Florida Weiss!), Flanders Red & Brown Ale, Lambic and American Wild Ales! This is going to be a massive event, so prepare accordingly and when the time comes, we’ll likely hook up with a hotel for a discounted rate for all those looking to get the most out of this rare event!
We started collecting beers to offer for this several months ago, and we’re not done yet!

We realize that the beer you provide for events such as those above does not magically appear and cost you nothing. Therefore, SAAZ will be implementing a new policy to help reimburse you for the beer you bring to events.
1/2 keg – $20
Full keg – $40
All reimbursement requests can be given to the Treasurer.

Important Dates
- Entry Window – July 15th thru August 20th, 2013
- Entry Sorting – Starting at 10:00am on August 24-25, 2013
- Early Round Judging – Starting at 10:00am August 31-September 1 and September 7-8, 2013
- Final Judging – Starting at 8:00am on September 13-14, 2013
- Commander’s Call at the Hospitality Suite – The party starts at 7:00pm on September 13th, 2013
- Awards Ceremony, Dinner, and Splashdown Party – The ceremony starts at 7pm on September 14th, 2013
Schedule
The entry window opens on July 15th, but slams shut on August 20th. Depending on the number of entries we will be doing at least one weekend of early round judging, and we will need your help! Early round judging will be held the weekends of August 31-September 1 and September 7-8. Final judging, will be held the weekend of September 13-14.

Do you have some homebrew supplies that you don’t use anymore? Maybe you upgraded or maybe you prefer another product? Consider bringing your dusty supplies to the next meeting for the raffle. We have brewers of all experience levels, so I am sure we can put any brewing supplies to use!
