SAAZ Folks,
On August 19th, SAAZ will be hosting its 28th Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blastoff and we are in desperate need for judges to help support our beer competition. We are judging over the course of three weekends in August 2023, additionally we have options for virtual judging this year.

First Judging Weekend: August 5th and August 6th
Location: Hell ‘n Blazes, 1002 E New Haven Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901
Our judging sessions on both days will start at 11:00AM. We have booked the room until 8:00 PM or everyone has had enough. We will need a lot of judging help to get through the entries. We will also be allowing for flights to take home to judge during the week, if you would like to do this, please let me know. Food and drink will be available on site to purchase.
Second Judging weekend: August 12th and August 13th
Location: Beachfly Brewing Company, 513 Barton Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955
Our judging sessions on Saturday will start at 10:00AM, and on Sunday we will be starting at 11:30AM, due to Yoga. If you would like to get a pre-judge stretch in, this is your opportunity. There will be at least three sessions each day. With the last one expected to end about 6:00 PM. Food and drink will be available on site to purchase.
Final Judging Session, Best of Show, and Awards Banquet: August 19th
Location: Front Street Civic Center, 2205 Front Street, Melbourne, FL 32901
Our judging sessions will start at 9:00AM. Set up will start at 8:00 AM. There will be two judging sessions. Lunch will be provided to judges who are signed up for the first two sessions of the day. The best of show session is scheduled to end around 3:30 PM to prepare for the awards ceremony and banquet. Dinner is catered by The Broken Barrel Tavern. Tickets for the banquet are $30 and can be purchased by bringing cash/check to prejudging. A PayPal link will be set up soon. We are also planning a PUB CRAWL on 8/18, more details to come.
We will also be supporting virtual judging. Judges who wish to do this shall pick up beer at our in person sessions. Please coordinate pickup with our Mission Commander at csaaz2022@saaz.org. We need to know what to bring you!
