I am so grateful for the amazing members of SAAZ. Thank you to everyone who helped us host our 11th Bottoms Up Beer Run. I have had the pleasure of being your race director and am proud of the event we put on. I am excited to announce that we will be donating our largest amount ever to St. Baldrick’s Foundation – $8250!!! I could not have done it without you! Now that BUBR 2023 is in the books, it is time for Commander SAAZ! The homebrew craziness continues… I love leading this group.

COMMANDER SAAZ INTERPLANETARY HOMEBREW BLASTOFF
CSAAZ 2023 entry window is open! We are expecting a lot of SAAZ Member participation. Our entry code in SAAZ23. As a member of SAAZ, the club pays for 4 entries each so get your spot and win a medal! Membership will be verified, so hopefully your dues have been paid.
We will need some help from club members to sort, steward, and judge beers. Any little bit will help.
For beer drop off, please plan to bring to the Summer Party. We won’t be able to drop off an Jimmy Johns this year, that is only for shipping. If you need to make other arrangements email vp@saaz.org.
We will have sorting 7/29 or 7/30, but the final date is TBD. The date and location will likely be shared at our July party and our newsletter.
Prejudging Weekends will need all the judge/steward support we can get! And we might need you to volunteer for weeknight virtual judging too!

Our final judging, BOS, and awards presentation will be at Front Street Civic Center, in downtown Melbourne on Saturday August 19th. We have set up a code for Hotel Melby, for out of town folks, or if you want a staycation. Be safe, don’t drink and drive! Dinner tickets will soon be on sale. Broken Barrel Tavern is catering our dinner so be prepared for some amazing smoked wings and BBQ.
SUMMER PARTY

TURTLE WALK
Back by popular demand we will be going on a turtle walk to see these amazing creature lay their eggs. Katie Grablow will lead us on a late evening walk in Melbourne Beach. More info to come. Mark your calendar for July 28th.
