CHALLENGE #3 – SPRING FLING COMPETITION

To help Keith and our judges prepare for another Epic Commander SAAZ, we want to hold a smaller SPRING FLING competition.

Entry Information:Spring Fling

  • 3 Bottles per entry

  • Cost $4 per entry

  • Accepted BJCP (2008) Categories:

    10: American Ale & 14: IPA

    12: Porter & 13: Stout

    24-28: Cider & Mead

    23: Specialty

Winner of Best of Show will take half the cash home! Other prizes awards for Gold in each category. Get brewing now!

CHALLENGE #4 – Sch-WHEAT on Homebrew

schweetThe next next challenge will feature WHEAT BEERS, perfect for summer time drinking.

SAAZ will provide the wheat for your brew and you provide the rest.

We have space for 8 All-Grain Brewers and 4 Extract Brewers. Sign-ups start at the April SAAZ Meeting.

All-Grain Brewers will receive 6lb of malted white wheat and Extract Brewers get a 3lb bag of Briess Bavarian Wheat DME

Remember you must bring your beer to be judged at the Summer Party.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Bottoms Up Beer Run – June 13th, 2015 @ 6pm

Save the date & tell your friends to join us for an awesome 4K with homebrew along the way! Proceeds from the run support St. Baldrick’s!

Please email Anne or sign up at a meeting to help. We need brewers, planning committee members and event volunteers.

Second committee meeting is Thursday, April 16th, 7pm at WOB.

 

Craft Brews in the Park – May 9th

Drew Thaller is looking for 20-25 volunteers to do a range of duties at World of Beer, Viera’s first Beer Festival!

Duties will include Check in, pouring beers, ensuring beer is cold, ice duty, water duty, etc. the work will be split into 2 shifts. 2 hours each. While you are not volunteering you may participate in the festival itself. It should be a lot of fun. Sign up at the April SAAZ Meeting or contact Drew to help out.

The SAAZ Library is full of great books and magazines to help make you a better brewer. You can view the entire list of publications here. If you see something that interests you, simply send an email to the librarian with your name and the publication title, and the Librarian will bring it to the next monthly member meeting.
