Commander SAAZ
Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blastoff is the homebrew competition hosted by SAAZ every fall, and features homebrewed beers, meads, ciders from all over the country. One of the largest competitions in Florida, it's also the one with the special "Rocket Fuel" category and the one in which you can have your entries judged by rocket scientists. The competition weekend features fun on the spacecoast in addition to judging and stewarding opportunities.
SAAZ typically meets on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2pm. Unless we are having a party, in that case it will likely be the 3rd Saturday. We also try to set up monthly happy hours around town. Check the calendar for info about the next meeting, and email saaz@saaz.org with any questions about the club.
The Bottoms Up Beer Run is a fun 4K held in Melbourne's Wickham Park that combines running or walking with samples of home brewed beer and cider along the way. Participants range in age, and include teams. Join us for a fun day of running and sipping homebrew while we raise money for pediatric cancer research. Proceeds from the race benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation and SAAZ. Since 2013, over $38,000 has been donated to St. Baldrick's.
